KQ Employees To Be Vetted by US Ahead of Direct Flights

Kenya Airways employees are set to be vetted by the United States of America ahead of the maiden direct flight from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the US.

Kenya Airways is set to fly directly to the US come October after meeting all the requirements in a move that Kenya is set to capitalize on to improve trade between the two countries.

More than 820 employees of Kenya Airways have been summoned by the US embassy in Nairobi for background checks as part of routine aviation safety measures.

The vetting of the employees is set to take place on 7th of July and Kenya Airways has asked all the employees to avail themselves.

Among those to be vetted will be 595 flight attendants as well as 5 cabin managers as the date for a nonstop flight from JKIA to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York at 10.30 pm daily.

According to Sebastian Mikosz, Kenya Airways is set to increase its revenue by 10 percent by the year 2019 as a result of the direct flights.
