According to the Index, Port Louis of Mauritius is the most expensive city in Africa at an index of 117.

South Africa, however, has 4 cities among the top 10 most expensive cities in Africa; Pretoria and Johannesburg at position 2 and 3 with an index of 116 respectively and Cape Town at position 5 with an index of 101 while Durban is at position 9 with an index of 91.
