Rafiki Microfinance Bank Hits 7, Here is their Story

Most of us must have heard of even interacted with Rafiki Microfinance Bank in one way or another. But do we know the history behind its existence? Behind every successful brand, there is always a dedicated team that channels its efforts towards making sure that a customer is satisfied and the brand rules over others.

Rafiki Microfinance Bank conceptualized as a business in 2009, registered in 2010 and launched its operations in the Kenyan market in 2011 with a firm footing agenda for the microfinance industry.
This was with a presence in two counties; Nairobi and Mombasa, at Tom Mboya Street and Likoni respectively. The Microfinance Bank is a conventional one-stop microfinance institution with a strong focus on youth agenda.
Rafiki Microfinance Bank is the premier relationship microfinance institution offering progressive youth-led microfinance services that span business loans, asset finance, agricultural loans, guarantees, saving accounts, Chama supreme banking, micro-insurance and housing Microfinance, cutting across urban, peri-urban and rural Kenya.
The Bank strives to empower communities to come out and live in dignity and for businesses to upscale through wealth creation to generate employment opportunities.
Rafiki Bank has to place young people as their key priority and that can be seen in their mission which is to empower the youth to achieve social and economic freedom. From this, everyone can agree that this is one financial institution that is here to improve the financial needs of the young generation.

- Mbale Branch located along Kakamega/Kisumu rd, Mbale town near Barclays bank
- Biashara Branch located at Rafiki House, Biashara Street, Nairobi, Kenya
- Rongai Branch located at Magadi road opposite Cleanshelf supermarket
- Westlands Branch opened in 2014 Located at Woodvale Grove, next to Co-op Bank
