Carry Your Umbrella – More Rains to be Witnessed in Nairobi Until September 3

Nairobians should carry their umbrellas and brace themselves for heavy traffic as more rains are forecasted for the next one week, says weatherman.

Monday began on a sunny note but later transformed into an unexpected downpour in the evening forcing many residents to wait hours on end for buses to arrive and take them home.

The evening rain saw the ever-busy city stages like Kencom remain empty by 8 pm on Monday leaving stranded individuals with umbrellas holding their breaths for buses to come. The situation was no better at other stages including the Ambassadeur and Mlolongo stages.

Data from the Monday evening forecast by the Kenya Meteorological Department shows that Nairobi among other regions in the central highlands will experience cloudy and cool mornings with the likelihood of rains.

Showers are expected to cover most of the afternoons and evenings in the Kenya capital and other parts including Kiambu, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Kirinyaga, and Murang’a to name a few.

The weatherman also points out that the Lake Victoria region and other several places in the Rift Valley will have the same showers in the afternoon and in the evening. Sadly, most regions in northern Kenya will witness sunny conditions despite the dire need for rains and water.

Coast will particularly remain sunny for the week but changes are expected between the coming Friday and Monday when morning showers will be possibly experienced.

Meanwhile, as the weatherman goes, you would do good to be prepared for the weather changes to avoid getting stuck in traffic at your place of work waiting for the rain to subside.
