Minet Kenya has partnered with the Nairobi Chapel to establish a scholarship fund to provide financial support to deserving needy students through their secondary and tertiary education.

The Minet educational fund, which will be administered by Logos Scholarship managed by Nairobi Chapel, will cater for the full tuition fees for exemplary primary school graduates to pursue their secondary and university/tertiary education.

“As a company, supporting education is one of the key pillars of our corporate social responsibility and we believe that through this program we will be able to provide the beneficiaries with a holistic education and impart them with the right skills, values, and mindset aimed at making them responsible and accountable citizens of this country,” said Minet Kenya Chief Executive Officer Sammy Muthui.

“The goal of this program is to nurture and create social transformational leaders who will act as change agents within their communities and play a part in nation building and that’s why partnership with Nairobi Chapel is key for us,” he quipped, adding that the firm has set aside Ksh 30 million to support social causes.

Mr. Muthui was speaking at a breakfast meeting organized jointly by Minet Kenya and Nairobi Chapel to pray for the first 10 beneficiaries of the Minet Kenya Scholarship Fund who were selected into the program four years ago and who will be sitting for their 2018 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

Speaking at the event, Nairobi Chapel Pastor Nick Korir said the beneficiaries will be trained not only on academics but also on other aspects like leadership, interpersonal skills, mentorship, communication and general ethics.

“We are grateful to Minet Kenya for coming to the aid of some of our bright students who might have difficulty in meeting their financial needs. We look forward to working together in promoting this collaboration so as to benefit more students in the future.”

Besides education, Minet Kenya supports 30 children at the Cerebral Society of Kenya and 30 young adults and children at the Ongata Rongai Special Home Care &Training Centre.   It is also supporting 22 football teams both boys and girls from diverse communities through its Futsal League aimed at exposing young people and tapping talents. It also supports a community rugby tournament, COMRAS.

“Our focus on education, healthcare and building sustainable communities is aimed at making a lasting and measurable impact in our world,” said Mr. Muthui.
