Safaricom Sweeps the Top Movers’ Table on Thursday As Uchumi ‘Sees’ The Stars

Top Movers

Safaricom PLC was the top mover of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) on Thursday after selling 3.05 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.17 trillion.

Kenya Commercial Bank was the second top mover after selling 1.59 million shares followed by Kenya Electricity Generating Company with 950,100 shares.

WPP ScanGroup and HF Group sold 948,800 and 759,500 shares respectively.

Top Gainers

The top gainer of the day was East African Portland Cement with 9.75 percent at the price of 19.30 shillings per share.

Crown Berger and Eveready East Africa gained 9.72 and 7.14 percent at the price of 79.00 and 1.50 shillings per share.

Home Afrika and Car and General (K) gained 7.14 and 6.67 percent at the price of 0.75 and 19.20 shillings per share.

Top Losers

Uchumi Supermarket was the top loser of the day after going down 9.68 percent at the price of 1.40 shillings per share.

Britam Holdings and Umeme lost 5.73 and 5.50 percent at the price of 13.15 and 9.45 shillings per share while Diamond Trust Bank and HF Group lost 4.12 and 3.85 percent at the price of 186.00 and 7.50 shillings per share respectively.
