President Uhuru Kenyatta has proposed the cut of the current 16 percent VAT on fuel to be slashed by 50 percent to 8 percent.

In his address to the nation, a day after rejecting the amendment to the Finance Bill 2018, the President said that the 8 percent VAT will ensure that the government runs its projects without any hindrance.

The Head of State has also proposed massive cuts in expenses across all government entities. All eyes have now shifted to parliament to see whether they will agree with the president.
