Idris Elba Named ‘Sexiest Man Alive in 2018’

The entertainment industry is abuzz with obvious excitement after Idris Elba was named People’s sexiest man of 2018.

Elba’s new title kicks out Blake Shelton’s reign after he was handed the title Sexiest Man Alive 2017 in November last year amid online protests.

People, a weekly magazine in the US and has since unveiled Elba in their cover this week after the social media-driven popular vote in last year’s Sexiest Man Alive contest, with multiple sources pointing to him as the definite winner. Elba, in a beige cardigan, white T-shirt and a pair of blue jeans smiled for the cameras as the cover photos were taken obviously appreciative of his latest milestone.

Elba, a British citizen, was born to a Ghanaian mother and as his father hailed from Sierra Leone. He has starred in a number of British and American productions. He is also known to be a singer. A number of the blockbusters Elba has acted in include Takers, Beasts of No Nation, Thor, Bastille Day and Obsessed where he starred with Beyoncé Knowles.

The online audience went viral with tweets congratulating the actor while others explained why he was indeed the sexiest man alive in 2018.

The sexy actor took to Twitter to thank the People magazine for naming him the sexiest man of 2018 as urged people to get a copy of the magazine and to also vote in the US midterm elections.

Elba has the ability to take up several accents depending on his role and despite having grown up in London; he can easily do an American accent in his acting.
