Forget About the New York Times and Daily Express: Agents and Merchants of Doom

Kenyans took to social media to express their anger against the New York Times and the Daily Express, both from the Western World.

Both media outlets have been accused of being insensitive while disseminating the information about the terror attack at Dusit D2 Hotel, at 14-Riverside Drive, Westlands Nairobi.

The New York Times ran an article marred with speculations with unfounded facts. The paper also published the images of dead bodies plus the disturbing ones of those who had been shot and injured.

The Daily Express, on the other hand, asked their audience of it was safe for them to travel to Kenya in the wake of a terror attack with no single tweet standing with Kenya.

As their peers in other countries were standing with Kenya, sending tweets with comforting messages, the two media outlets were busy vomiting trash and painting the country as a hotbed and breeding ground of terror and violence.

We should ignore some of these Western media houses. We should ignore their screaming ignorance. To most of them, Africa is an asshole and according to them, nothing good ever comes out of an asshole.

To most of them, Africa is hell itself where Lucifer himself resides and nothing good will ever come out of Lucifer’s headquarters.

When Africa is at peace, Western media outlets see nothing newsworthy. They want us to kill and butcher each other so that they can get “news” and paint their papers and screens with our blood.

At one time, the CNN described Kenya as a hotbed of terror. What is shocking, is they do so from their own continents and some have never even stepped in Africa/Kenya for that matter.

During general elections, they pray that we fight, if we don’t, they have nothing to report. Basically, they thrive on our graves. The more we die, the more they get “selling” news pieces.

Stats show that many people die in these western countries from gun violence more than we die from terror. There have been mass shootings in their country. Not even a single day have we advised or asked silly questions of people visiting them.

We always stand with them through screaming hashtags whenever they are attacked. They never do the same for us who they consider lesser beings.

The New York Times has tried to justify their move to publish images of dead bodies from the attack saying that it is within their policy. It is within their policy but not ours and we should let them know exactly that.

A day before the attack, Aljazeera had run some posts about terror, especially in Kenya. The following day, boom, terrorists attack. What is more, the spokesperson of the Al-Shabaab is said to have told them that “right now, we are conducting an operation in Nairobi.”
