10 Most Prestigious Internships in 2019

Internships are increasingly becoming important for both college and graduate students.
For most college students, internships are a necessity in their course work for them to graduate. For graduates, an internship can pave the way for a permanent position and provide necessary work experience before employment.
In a survey dubbed 2019 Vault Internship Rankings, Google, Apple, and Facebook were ranked among the most prestigious internships.
Career-intelligence platform, Vault, asked more than 120 companies with internship programs to distribute their internship survey to past and present interns. More than 13,000 interns responded.
Here is a list of the top 10 best internships in the world:
Google’s employees have long been envied by workers not just in the tech field, but across the world of business.
Much of that is due to the firm’s employee-centric culture, and the perks that it offers. Interns reported that Google offers a positive working environment where employees feel valued
An intern at Google earns about $7,000 per month with housing and travel expenses covered.
- Apple
The corporate culture at Apple is very strong with employees and former employees having strong opinions about working at the company, both positive and negative.
Interns working at Apple reported that working there provided them with the opportunities to interact with the best and brightest minds.
An intern at Apple earns about $5,000 per month along with free housing.
- Microsoft
Interns responded by saying that Microsoft has a good work-life balance, as well as intern-only speaker events.
An intern at Microsoft earns about $7,100 per month with subsidized housing and a travel stipend being provided.
- Tesla
Interns said they benefitted from “intelligent, charming, and altruistic” coworkers and experiencing a typical Tesla employee’s workday.
An intern at Tesla earns about $28 per hour.
Interns giving reviews on their experience at Facebook pointed out that there was a collaborative work environment with high autonomy.
A typical intern at Facebook earns about $8,000 per month, along with free housing and fun weekend activities.
- Goldman Sachs
While the hours are grueling, interns said their dinners are compensated and the office gives out tickets to Beyoncé concerts and San Francisco Giants games.
An intern at Goldman Sachs earns roughly $5,700 per month.
- Amazon
Interns said that there are plenty of social and professional development opportunities, with interns being tasked with major responsibilities during their program.
An intern at Amazon earns about $6,100 per month.
- P. Morgan
Here, interns reported that they enjoyed work duties similar to those of full-time employees, rather than typical intern busywork.
An intern at J.P. Morgan earns about $25 an hour.
- SpaceX
The hours are tough, but interns responded by saying that the work experience is often worth it. “You definitely feel like you’re doing something that could change the world,” one said.
An intern at SpaceX earns about $26 an hour.
- The Walt Disney Company
Along with great professional development opportunities, a former intern responded by saying that she was able to get behind-the-scenes access to Disney World.
An intern at Walt Disney earns about $16 an hour.
