A Look at the Price of Cereals across major Urban Centers in Kenya

The average price of a 90-kilogram bag of finger millet is retailing at 6,663 shillings across the country with Kisumu registering the highest price and Bungoma the lowest.

In Kisumu, a 90-kilogram bag finger millet is going for 7,680 shillings while in Bungoma, the price of the same quantity of finger millet is at 5,200 shillings.

A 90-kilogram bag of Sorghum is being sold at 5,400 shillings in Eldoret and Kitui respectively, 5,000 shillings in Malindi, 4,800 shillings in Bungoma, 4,000 shillings in Embu and Isiolo respectively, 3,600 shillings in Nairobi, 3,500 shillings in Nakuru, 3,000 shillings in Kisumu and 2,700 shillings in Mombasa.

A 115-kilogram bag of Green maize on the other hand re retailing at a wholesale price of 4,640 shillings in Mombasa, 3,450 shillings in Embu, 3,000 shillings in Bungoma, 2,500 shillings in Eldoret and Nairobi respectively, 2,200 shillings in Kitui, 1,800 shilling in Nakuru and 1,500 shillings in Isiolo.

Malindi has the highest market price for Dry Maize which is being sold at 2,700 shillings for a 90-kilogram bag with Nakuru having the lowest market price of 1,740 shillings.
