Boinnet Appointed to Tourism as Hillary Mutyambai Takes His Place

President Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated Hilary Mutyambai to be the next Inspector General of Police following the end of Joseph Boinnet’s time in office.

The Head of State made the directive in an Executive Order dated March 13, 2019, after days of speculations as possible names were floated around.

Hillary, who has been the deputy director of Counter-Terrorism Coordination at National Intelligence Service, was not top among the possible candidates for little is known of the security expert.

Through the Executive Order No.4 of 2019, President Uhuru rewarded the outgoing Joseph Boinnet with the position of the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the ministry of Tourism and Wildlife.

Appointments also made at the time include:

  1. Brig. John Migui Waweru as the Director General (DG) of the Kenya Wildlife Service
  2. Wycliffe Ogalo as the Commissioner General, Kenya Prisons Service
  3. Brig. Vincent Naisho Loonena as the DG of the Kenya Coast Guard Service
  4. Eliud Ndung’u Kinuthia as the new Chairperson of the National Police Service Commission (NPSC).

Hillary Mutyambai is set to go through vetting by Parliament together with the other Presidential appointees.
