President Uhuru Moves CS Amina to Sports, Fires CS Echesa in Cabinet Reshuffle

President Uhuru Kenyatta, in a move that seems to have taken forever, has fired Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa in the latest cabinet reshuffle.

Education cabinet secretary Amina Mohammed has now been tasked with the sports ministry.

Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) Chairman George Magoha has been nominated as the Education cabinet secretary.

Fatuma Hirsi, the Principal Secretary, State Department of Broadcasting and Telecommunication has also been fired while six other Principal Secretaries were moved as listed;

• Susan N. Mochache, CBS-Ministry of Health
• Dr. Ibrahim M. Mohamed, CBS-State Department of Environment & Forestry
• Mr. Ali Noor Ismail, CBS-State Department of Cooperatives
• Eng. Peter Kiplagat Tum, OGW-State Department of Labour
• Dr. Margaret Mwakima, CBS-State Department of East African Community Affairs (EAC)

The announcement comes barely 24 hours since the outgoing Sports CS Echesa was caught in a fake money and gold scandal.
