Game of Thrones Nairobi Fans Treated to an Exclusive Screening on Season 8 World Premiere

Multichoice Kenya through its DStv brand and the Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), treated hundreds of subscribers to an exclusive screening of the first episode of HBO’s most watched and celebrated TV series, Game of Thrones, Season 8.
The final and much anticipated season will be aired live on Mnet Channel 102 every Monday meaning that fans will get to enjoy the episodes as they are released without getting any spoilers online.
Season 8 of Game of Thrones will be the last showdown as fans around the globe will finally find out the ultimate fate of Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and the Night King.
Speaking during the screening, MultiChoice Kenya Chief Customer Officer Simon Kariithi reiterated MultiChoice Kenya’s commitment towards making great entertainment accessible to subscribers.

“We’ve listened to our customers and we know and appreciate that Game of Thrones is by far one of the most watched series in the world and has a lot of fans in Kenya as well. We, therefore, organized this screening for our loyal subscribers and their friends to appreciate their support and loyalty and we shall always strive to bring the best entertainment to their screens through our GOtv and DStv brands,” said Mr. Kariithi.
Unlike the first six seasons that each had ten episodes and the seventh that had seven, the final and most anticipated season has only six episodes, which are said to be the longest than any other GOT previous episodes.
KBL Marketing and Innovations Director, Graham Villiers-Tuthill said the partnership between HBO and Diageo bringing the White Walker experience in Kenya is a perfect example of integrating culture into brands.
“We knew there was fan appetite for a Game of Thrones whiskey and once we saw the vision from Johnnie Walker for a way to collaborate, we knew the idea was perfect and the time was now. From the beginning, they understood that we wanted to create something special, and they’ve accomplished that with White Walker by Johnnie Walker. We’re confident fans will enjoy sipping this great whiskey as they wait for Season 8 and beyond,” said Villiers-Tuthill.
The limited-edition Scotch Whisky is inspired by the most enigmatic and feared characters on the hit show – the White Walkers – and is here for fans to enjoy as anticipation builds towards the final season.

The screening of Game of Thrones comes just a month after hundreds of fans in Nairobi proved their loyalty to the throne through a blood donation drive organized by DStv and the Kenya Red Cross, in a worldwide campaign dubbed, “For the Throne”.
