StarTimes Halves Bouquet Cost to Offer a Premium Package at Ksh.749

StarTimes, the pay-TV firm has reduced the cost of its subscriptions where the Classic Bouquet now becomes the premium package priced at 749 shillings a month.
The move comes as the company plans on offering only three packages which will be the Nyota, Basic, and Classic bouquets.
Moreover, StarTimes has also added a total of six more channels for an immersive and beautiful viewing experience.
The channels added include National Geographic, ST Movies Plus, Fox – the news channel, Baby Tv, Star Plus, and the E entertainment channel.
Before the adjustment of the bouquet subscription rates, the premium package offered by the pay-TV firm was the Unique Bouquet, which was retailing at 1,499 shillings. The new rate for the Classic package is half the price.

Subscribers will still have the option to upgrade to Classic Bouquet or downgrade to Basic or Nyota packages. The basic package goes for 599 shillings whereas the Nyota bouquet costs 259 shillings.
According to Japhet Akhulia, the director of marketing for StarTimes, the new pricing will woe in more subscribers particularly those looking for good content and affordable rates.
“We have made strategic improvements by adding six more channels key in extending value for money to our Classic bouquet subscribers,” Akhulia said.
The adjustment will also see the platform’s subscribers of Basic and Nyota packages enjoy access to the next higher bouquet for seven days upon subscribing for one month.
What this means is that the first seven days after subscribing to the Basic and Nyota bouquet, customers will access the Classic package content at no extra cost.

Subscribers of StarTimes who are on the satellite television platform can also access Super, Smart, and Nova packages for 1,499, 899, and 499 shillings respectively.
“These strategic changes are mainly geared towards growing our subscriber retention, upgrading subscribers to higher bouquets as well as growing our numbers in our quest to enable more Kenyan households to access and enjoy digital television at the most affordable rates in the market,” added Akhulia.
Consequently, one has the option of daily subscription for 25 shillings on Nyota package or 60 shillings on the Basic bouquet, and 85 shillings on the Classic bouquet.
Weekly subscription rates for the three packages; Nyota, Basic, and Classic are 95, 220, or 340 shillings respectively.
The monthly service has been tailored towards allowing customers to continue premium TV content depending on the amount they wish to spend at a given time.
