The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has released the timetable for 2019 KCPE and KCSE examinations.

The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) will kick off on 28th of October and expected to come to an end on 31st of October.

KCPE candidates will start off with the mathematics paper, and finish with Social studies and Religious Education.

Those sitting for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) will have their exam kick off officially on the 4th of November and expected to end on the 27th of November.

This year, 1.78 million candidates will be sitting for the two national exams. 1,089,671 candidates have been registered for KCPE while 698,935 will be sitting for KCSE.

A total of 10,304 centres across the country are set to administer the exams with the Ministry of Education saying that it is aiming at having zero cases of examination irregularities this year.

The current CS for Education Professor George Magoha was once at the helm of Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and stakeholders are expecting him to implement the same tough measures he had while in KNEC.

According to KNEC, any centre that will take part in any examination cheating will have all their results cancelled and called on both teachers and students to observe all the examination guidelines and rules.

“Any person who wilfully and maliciously damages examination material will be in violation of Section 30 of the Knec Act and the penalty will be imprisoned for a term not exceeding five years or a fine not exceeding Sh5 million or both,” says KNEC.
