Woman Kills Husband, Two Children and Commits Suicide in Thome Estate, Nairobi

A case of a mother of two alleged to have killed her children, husband and shortly after, committed suicide has left the residents of Thome Estate, Nairobi, speechless.

The woman, 32 years of age, according to the neighbors, was violent towards the husband who had on a number of occasions made official complaints to the police.

Police, who have since taken upon investigating the matter, says it remains unclear if the woman was actually behind the murders.

Police officers at the scene of the crime, however, acknowledged that they were aware of the couple’s recurring conflict and had come through at some point to create peace as the man had reported having been beaten up by his wife and mother of his two children.

Peter Kimani, Kasarani police boss, noted investigations were yet to establish if the murders had been executed by the woman and if she had done it alone, if so, what was the motive.

The husband, 37 years of age seems to have sought help on numerous occasions for being physically abused by his wife since it is reported that he had visited the area chief on the same problem before he met his death.

The mother of two was a food vendor at Thome Estate and is accused to have used an ax to kill the husband, who worked as a casual laborer, and was asleep at the time as his body was found on a blood-soaked bed.

The mother of two is reported to have later strangled their two children with the firstborn being 14 years and the second born being three years of age before hanging herself in the same room.

The bodies of the family were discovered on Tuesday afternoon through the efforts of the Nyumba Kumi when the woman’s customers began to ask of her whereabouts.

The four bodies are set to undergo a postmortem to establish the exact cause of death and rid of any doubt.
