Don’t Be Conned: World Bank Warns Job Seekers Of Conmen Using Its Name

World Bank has warned job seekers against individuals who are fluting fake job applications while soliciting cash with a promise of giving them jobs using the World Bank Group name.

“The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank), (jointly the World Bank Group” have been made aware that various individuals or organizations are posting false job advertisements in the media,” said World Bank in a statement.

The organizations, according to World Bank have been going to an extent of offering fraudulent letters of appointment on behalf of IFC and or World Bank Group Lighting Africa Program including the so-called organization “Solar Africa Energy Kenya.”

“Please note that the World Bank, IFC and or Lighting Africa are not behind this scheme and have no affiliation or connection to any kind whatsoever with these alleged offers of employment,” the World Bank added.

According to the World Bank, in all of their employment opportunities, they do not ask applicants to pay for anything. “Further, the World Bank will not be held responsible or obligated to honor any expectation from false offers.”
