Four Dead in Kamulu Night Road Accident

A Tuesday, 1st October 2019, night road accident at Reflector area near Kamulu shopping center has left four people dead.

The fatal road accident involved a Probox saloon car and a Public Service Vehicle of the Kenya Bus Services (KBS) Sacco and left all the occupants of the probox dead. The Tuesday night accident occurred along the Nairobi-Kangundo road.

The accident, according to police officers at the scene, happened after the driver of the Probox saloon car tried to overtake another vehicle but collided head-on with the oncoming KBS minibus which was approaching from the opposite direction.

“The Probox was heading to Joska from Kamulu general direction and was trying to overtake another vehicle when it collided head-on with the minibus,” a police officer said adding that three occupants who were in the probox died on the spot.

The driver of KBS vehicle later succumbed to injuries as he was being rushed to a health facility,” the officer said.

The wreckage of the vehicles, the KBS bus, and the Probox, was towed to Kamulu police station while bodies of the deceased were taken to the City mortuary.

As the annual road carnage continues to grow, motorists are advised to be extra careful on the road not just for their sake but also for the sake of all road users.
