The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) rehearsals have kicked off across the country ahead of the three-day assessment set to begin tomorrow 29th October 2019.

The national primary exams will kick off at 8.30 in the morning tomorrow, 29th October 2019, with the preparations of the candidates being ensured today with the students presenting their requirements such as the geometrical set and clear cardboard.

The national primary exam will be availed to the administration of Mathematics in three variants which are normal print, large print, and braille depending on the need specified during registration.

The candidates will on Tuesday, 29th October 2019 sit for English Language and Composition assessment available in normal print, large print, and braille for the hearing impaired.

On Wednesday, the 30th of October 2019 will see candidates sit Science, Kiswahili and Insha exams respectively.
On Thursday, 31st October 2019, the primary school candidates will sit their last papers which will be social studies and religious education exams.

28,000 school heads have been licensed to be the Centre Managers by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in addition to 173,000 teachers who will supervise the national examinations.

As has been the norm every year, the Ministry of education is working in conjunction with the Interior Ministry to ensure the exams are not leaked at any point as fears of the rains making the transportation difficult remain rife.

“I want to assure the public and all our candidates that the council is fully prepared to administer this year’s examination. All materials are ready, and I am calling on all stakeholders to give us the necessary support in ensuring that they are not tampered with,” KNEC Acting Chief Executive Officer Mercy Karogo on 14th October assured of the council’s preparedness to administer the exams.

“Any officer who was found to have colluded with students to cheat in last year’s examination is not involved in any way during this year’s exams,” the KNEC Chairperson John Onsati said during the meeting adding that they would ensure candidates got the grades they deserve.

Prof Magoha warned examination center managers and other stakeholders against colluding with candidates and parents in cheating.

“My warning to them is very clear. The government is watching and those who will attempt will be punished. As a matter of fact, we have the capacity to know if you open a paper we will know where that paper was meant to be,” Prof Magoha who was also present in the meeting reiterated.

Soko Directory wishes all the 2019 KCPE candidates the very best in their exams.
