A local tech firm little shuttle has been ordered by authorities to stop its operations starting today, October 1st, 2019.

Little Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kamal Budhabhatti took to social media to talk about his firm’s removal from operations by authorities.

According to his social media post, Little Shuttle was said not to have been properly registered and that the firm was operating on wrong licenses.

Budhabhatti, however, disputes the authority’s claims saying that the company hails from other partners who are properly registered for business and wonders why Little has to be stopped from working.

“Our partners are properly registered but now it’s shocking that we are told we are operating on wrong licenses,” said Budhabhatti.

The CEO in his post appealed to the government to consider dialogue before taking such action, as he says so many people will become jobless as Little has been their source of income.

He also suspects that the directive to halt their operations was caused by cartels in the transport sector whose mission is to frustrate tech firms.

“Little and other such tech firms introduced to ease passengers’ burden of movement and to save them from the chaos witnessed in the matatu sector. It is actually the face of what an ideal transport system should be,” he said.

According to Budhabhatti, tech firms such as Little e-shuttle systems should be embraced because they are meant to “bring sanity to the transport sector”.

He explained that e-shuttles target passengers who would otherwise be using their personal cars to move around by allowing them to book a seat at the comfort of their homes, after which they are picked at specific places and times starting from 6:45 am on weekdays.

People who prefer to use this type of transport often have to pay a bit more than the normal matatu price as the ride is prompt, more comfortable and free of hassles.

Little shuttle had also partnered with some matatu SACCOs who have introduced their buses to their application, a move aimed at saving passengers from the usual pains of having to wait for normal matatus to be full among other disadvantages.

Little Shuttle has made commendable growth since its inception from Craft Silicon, with its latest investment making up to one billion shillings.
