Super Sunday Results: Liverpool Edge Past Spurs, Man Utd Climbs To Seventh

Liverpool continued their impressive Premier League campaign as they thrashed over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday.

Jordan Henderson canceled Harry Kane’s early goal lead to keep the two teams level but a late strike by Mohamed Salah from the penalty spot ensured Liverpool bagged all the three points.

Liverpool’s win over Spurs means they still maintain a six-points-lead at the top of the table just above last season’s PL winners Manchester City.

Manchester United rescued their reputation after they thumped Norwich City by three goals to one, a result that moved them to seventh place in the table.

Scott Mac Tominay opened the scoring for Man United at the 21st minute, Marcus Rashford then scored at the 30th minute and Antony Martial closed the scores at the 70th minute. Norwich’s consolation goal was scored by O Hernandez in the 88th minute.

Tominay’s goal marked Manchester United 2000th goal. The highest to ever been scored by any premier league side.

The Carabao Cup (Wednesday, October 30)

Liverpool will face Arsenal for the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. The odds will be against Arsenal for this match as the North Londoners have not been on a steady form this season.

Despite having some of the best players in the squad, Arsenal’s form is never predictable, something that Liverpool should take to their advantage.

Manchester United’s next fixture will be against Chelsea on Wednesday for the Carabao Cup. Man United seems to have gone back to a commendable form, but Chelsea is not just a team.

Paul Pogba’s fate

Man United’s midfielder Paul Pogba is not likely to return anytime soon something that has been a major blow to the Red Devil’s midfield.

Paul Pogba has missed most games for Manchester United this season following an ankle injury, which Man United’s boss says requires more than enough time to heal.

“I don’t think we will see him before December. He’ll be out for a while,” said Man United’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“He needs time to fully, fully recover so I don’t think he will be back (until) maybe Sheffield United after the international break.” It will probably be December until we can see him.”
