Cristiano Ronaldo Risks a two-year Ban for Leaving Stadium Early – Cassano

Former Italian footballer Antonio Cassano has raised concerns over Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Juventus Stadium early saying it could have landed the Portuguese star into big trouble.

Cristiano Ronaldo risks facing a two-year ban from football for leaving before the full time when Juventus were playing against AC Milan on Sunday (10/11/2019).

Antonio Cassano argues that all players are supposed to undergo an anti-doping control test before leaving the pitch and if Ronaldo left the stadium earlier, it means he might have missed the test.

“Did he leave before the end of the game?” Cassano asked on the Italian television show Tiki-Taka, per AS. “You can’t do that because there is an anti-doping control. I had to go back to the stadium urgently to avoid a two-year ban,” Cassano added

Cristiano looked extremely disappointed when he was substituted for the second consecutive time when Juventus played against AC Milan on Sunday (10/11/2019).

Ronaldo had played for only 55 minutes but Maurizio Sarri substituted him for Paulo Dybala who came in and scored the only goal of the game.

When he was asked why he substituted Ronaldo for the second consecutive time, Sarri said that Ronaldo has not been fit after he suffered a knee injury during training.

“Over the last month, he has had this little knee problem, he had a knock in training and it hurt the collateral ligament. When he trains at high intensity or plays, it unbalances him, so he ends up overcompensating and it damages the calf and thigh muscles,” Sarri added.

Sarri’s decision for substituting Ronaldo has coincidentally bore fruits as Juventus have scored a winning goal just minutes after the Portuguese left the pitch.

It is not clear whether Ronaldo is suffering from a knee injury or whether he is in a bad form, but he has not been playing so well in the last three or so games.

Though it is confirmed that Ronaldo was not among those selected for the anti-doping control test, he should have checked first before leaving the stadium.

A player at his capacity should be very keen in ensuring that he doesn’t make such a mistake as it could have landed him into big trouble that could affect his career.

Juventus also announced that they would not take any action against Cristiano’s reaction after he was substituted and left the stadium early.
