My Experience With Safaricom’s No Expiry Data Bundles

BY Juma · November 14, 2019 03:11 am

As Safaricom marked their 19th birthday, they had something in stock for their customers; a new tagline that was simple, transparent and honest. The telecommunications giant, in a move that got competitors unaware and throwing them off balance, became the first to introduce the “no expiry date” data bundles, SMS and voice calls.

With the new offer, it meant customers had the freedom to purchase data bundles, SMS or voice data, and use them without the fear of them expiring.

It was the first time customers were having full control of their data by using it fully without someone dictating to them when it should be exhausted.

When Safaricom introduced this offer, many propagandists started spinning the wheel. Some said, with this offer, Safaricom will make sure that data doesn’t last so that people pay more. Some said that the data given will be less so that it gets depleted easily.

The truth is, all those discrediting the move haven’t tried out the offer. They are discussing the subject out of their own imaginations. Just like Moses Kuria says, I have also found my true way on my way to Damascus.

I decided to purchase one of the no expiry date data bundle from Safaricom to confirm whether what was being said was true.

I am a blogger and internet is what feeds me. I do very little offline with most of what I do being online. 90 percent of my task is performed via phone.

I decided to purchase data worth 500 shillings with no expiry. The process was easy. By dialling *544# and following the prompts, boom, you will have data fully loaded.

500 shillings gave me 2,500MBs or 2.5GB. By the way, when I say I found my true way on my way to Damascus, is true. I was in Nyandarua County where the other internet was completely zero, nunge, sufuri, nothing. I had to turn to the king himuselefu, Safaricom and he reigned supreme.

I have been using the 2.5GB for the last three weeks and they are still going strong. I am now remaining with 800MBs. For me, it gives me more value to purchase the no expiry date data from 500 shillings and above. It is like Safaricom has no hurry in consuming it, and lets you do your things sawasawa.

I would like to hear about your experience. Leave a comment below.
