Brace Yourselves For Heavy Traffic in and Around Nairobi

A traffic advisory warning Nairobi residents of heavy traffic across the city on the 20th December 2019 is in circulation.

The traffic advisory warns that snarl-ups will be overly heavy as a number of universities will be holding their graduation today.

The traffic advisory is as follows :

NAIROBI Residents Traffic advisory:

20th DECEMBER 2019,

Expect snarl-ups within and around the City as several Institutions hold their Graduation Ceremonies;

1. University of Nairobi (UoN).
2. Kenyatta University (KU).
3. Daystar University (DU)
4. Mt. Kenya University (MKU).
5. The Technical University of Kenya, formerly Kenya Polytechnic (TUK)

University of Nairobi (UON) is expected to cause heavy traffic along the Uhuru Highway, Westlands, Forest road and Riverside Drive.

The Kenyatta University (KU) graduation is expected to cause heavy congestion along the Thika Superhighway, all the way from Thika to the CBD.

Daystar University whose graduation ceremony is expected to be at Upper Hill is likely to cause heavy traffic along Valley Road, Mbagathi Road and Hospital Road.

Mount Kenya University(MKU) is expected to result in heavy traffic in Thika town which is likely to spill over to the Thika superhighway.

The Technical University of Kenya (TU_K) is likely to result in heavy congestion the Haile Sellasie Avenue within the CBD.

The Technical University of Kenya is also likely to spill traffic over to the CBD. Already, Jogoo road, Thika road from Allsopps to CBD, Mombasa road are impassable.
