Candidates who sat the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) will now get to know which Secondary school they will be joining come January 2020 just as the Ministry of Education had promised.

Releasing the Form One admission results on Monday morning, 2nd December 2019, Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) George Magoha warned the selection committee and school principals not to turn away needy students who lacked school fees.

“I, Magoha son of Magoha, shall do a post mortem physical audit and only God will save you if you ignore a needy child and support a child whose family could have supported them,” CS Magoha said warning that those who will be caught culpable will face dire consequences.

CS Magoha urged the Committee to prioritize orphans so as to help break the poverty cycle running in most families in Kenya.

CS Magoha has also warned parents who will fail to ensure their children report to form one and urged members of the public to ensure they report any cases of students who will not report form one.

CS Magoha noted that all those that sat the KCPE must be seen to report to form one come January whether or not they are pregnant or delivered during the exam period.

The report detailing the Form One Selection records that at least 95 percent of candidates who sat the KCPE have been invited into secondary schools of their choice.

Inmates, refugees and overage candidates who sat KCPE 2019 have however been excluded form the form 1 selection.

“The team was looking at a ‘faceless Kenyan child’. No child was given a school they did not apply for.” CS Magoha revealed.
