‘I was Desperate To Eat at Java Restaurant Before Dying’ Hawker Tells Court

We all have dreams of things we hope to achieve in life before meeting our creator through the fear of the meeting taking place before cannot be refuted.

For Michael Masinza Ambatsa, his dream was of eating at the Java restaurant before he could die and the fear of death coming first was just too much.

Michael Masinza was desperate to enjoy a meal at Java in his life that he finally decided to visit the restaurant and order despite not having any monies.

Michael Masinza had the courtroom burst into bouts of laughter as he explained how he had always dreamed of dining at the Java restaurant in his lifetime.

“Ambatsa, yaani uliamua lazima ukule Java kabla ufe,” the magistrate asked as the courtroom burst into laughter.

Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi pardoned Michael Manzisa Ambatsa for ordering, eating at the Java restaurant despite knowing he had no monies to foot the bill.

Chief Magistrate Andayi even joked that probably the accused had vowed to enjoy a meal at Java restaurant afraid he would die before the experience.

Michael Masinza Ambatsa, who is a hawker in Nairobi, was unable to settle a 1310 shillings at a Java outlet in Nairobi prompting the management to seek his arrest.

Michael Masinza was taken into custody at the Nairobi Central Police Station for eating at the Java restaurant and not paying.

Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi released Michael Masinza with a warning after he pleaded guilty and informed the court that he regretted his actions.

“I admit that I made a stupid mistake ordering a meal and drink that I wasn’t in a position to pay for,” Michael Masinza said.

Do not however try to pull a Michael Masinza as a joke repeated is no longer funny and the Chief Magistrate could use you to be a lesson to others.
