KCSE 2019 Results To Be Out Anytime This Week

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results are expected to be out anytime soon this week according to sources at the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

All the examiners finished the marking exercise on Friday last week and handed in their marks for processing with the Chemistry Paper said to be among the worst-performed.

The marking of the KCSE 2019 papers had been marred with chaos with examiners in various categories going on strike demanding better payment as well as reduction of the workload.

It is not clear if the quality was adhered to during the marking given that examiners were picketing forcing some centers to be closed and examiners ordered to leave.

A total of 699,745 candidates who sat their KCSE will be expecting their results with all eyes now focused on the tough-talking Cabinet Secretary for Education Professor George Magoha.

The KCSE examination process also reported various cases of attempted cheating that involved teachers, invigilators, and some candidates. More than 14 people were arrested during the period for attempting to cheat or process the stealing of examination materials.

The Ministry of Education insisted that no examination leaked and that all the papers that were said to be out before the exam time were all fake.

During Chemistry Paper 3 (practicals), some students and teachers fell sick and were admitted after they inhaled a chemical called xylene that had been issued by KNEC for the practicals.

One student is said to have died as a result of the xylene chemical although the Ministry of Education downplayed the allegations and said it was one of the tricks some people were using to cheat during the examination period.

Among what is expected by the candidates and parents as well as teachers include the number of those who will score grade A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, and C and whether all will be accommodated in public universities.
