President Uhuru Kenyatta has officially fired Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture Mwangi Kinjuri from his government, leading to jubilations among a section of Kenyans.

Mwangi Kiunjuri pissed off Kenyans during his last meeting with the media when he called on Kenyans to take pictures of the locusts and post them on social media as a way of fighting the swarm of locusts that have now invaded more than 5 counties.

At one point, Mwangi Kiunjuri also promised Kenyans a total of 37 dams within two weeks, something that was clearly a joke and never materialized. Overall, Mwangi Kiunjuri has been a joker in government.

Kenyans have been calling on the President to make changes on his Cabinet including firing some of his lazy Cabinet Secretaries, including Mwangi Kiunjuri.

“The ones I have mentioned are either still in place and if not still in place, so be it, Kenya moves on,” said the President when asked if he had indeed fired Mwangi Kiunjuri.

In his place, the President has appointed Peter Munya to take up the position of the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture. Peter Munya has been the CS for Trade and was the former Governor for Meru County.

The firing of Mwangi Kiunjuri is set to elicit some reactions, especially from Central Kenya where Kiunjuri has been making inroads in the company of Deputy President William Ruto politicking.

Mwangi Kiunjuri has also been a critic of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and has on several occasions chaired meetings that seemed to go against his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
