All Bars Near Bus Terminals To Be Closed Down In Nakuru

County Government of Nakuru has today 23rd January 2020, ordered all alcohol outlets operating near matatu and bus terminal to be closed down with immediate effect. The county government has also suspended the issuance of permits to alcohol joints near bus terminals.

Governor Lee Kinyanjui issued the ultimatum during his visits to the Mashambani Matatu stage in Nakuru where he interacted with the traders and matatu owners. Licenses of traders and bar owners who are involved in the sale of lethal brews will also be canceled by the county government of Nakuru according to the governor.

“The county government undercover enforcement to apprehend those violating the directive. We have established that some drivers take alcohol before ferrying passengers to various destinations. We will not allow bars to operate near matatu and bus termini”  Said Governor Lee Kinyanjui.

Joseph Mburu died at the matatu stage within Nakuru town after consuming alcohol believed to have been poisoned according to Nakuru Level five hospital medical superintend.
