Bamburi Cement Share Price Hits New 17 year Low on Thursday

On Thursday, 24th January 2020, Bamburi Cement Ltd closed the day at 69.25 shillings hitting a new low share price in 17 years, since 2004.

Bamburi share price on Thursday, lost 2.46 percentage points from Wednesday’s price of 71.00 shillings.

The cement manufacturer sold a volume of 2,000 shares on Thursday at the NSE and recorded a turnover of 138,250 shillings.

When it first listed on the NSE in 1970, no one imagined the stock would gain so much in its share price.

Bamburi has sold its shares for as high as 187 shillings but since August 2019, the share price has been on a downward trend in its average monthly price.

Bamburi Cement is a leading cement manufacturer in Kenya and also has operations in Uganda and Rwanda.

In 2018, the company aimed to increase its cement production capacity by 1.8 million metric tonnes and in 2019, it completed the construction of a grinding plant in Athi River which was expected to produce additional 900,000 metric tonnes of cement.
