Magoha Revokes Appointment Of Gitahi As UoN VC

Education CS Professor George Magoha has revoked the appointment of Professor Stephen Gitahi Kiama as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi (UoN).

According to Magoha, the appointment of a substantive VC for the University of Nairobi will be done after the completion of the ongoing consultative meetings.

“Prof. Kiama will continue dispensing his duties as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Human Resource and Administration at the university,” said the CS in a statement.

The Education CS has also appointed Professor Isaac Meroka Mbeche (currently DVC Finance, Planning and Development) to the position of acting Vice Chancellor of the university.

At the same time, the CS has dissolved the University of Nairobi Council with immediate effect without giving any specific reasons.
