Probably the most shocking death circumstances in the year 2020, a public primary school teacher has been murdered, her body burnt, a day after angry parents stormed the school she taught claiming the school’s performance was poor.

Daisy Mbathe Mbaluka who taught at Ndooni Primary School was reportedly taking her children to school in the early morning when she was attacked by unknown assailants.

Daisy Mbathe Mbaluka’s murder came a day after angry parents had stormed Ndooni Primary where she taught an attacked her and her colleagues demanding their transfer over ‘poor academic results.’

Dickson Muasya, the school headteacher, has since recorded a statement with the police on the incident that leaves the neighbors of Ndooni Primary shocked.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have been deployed to probe the murder of teacher Daisy Mbathe Mbaluka.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary-General Wilson Sossion, has sent out a statement to newsrooms castigating the parents of Ndooni primary school and accused them of being behind the atrocious murder.

“For unknown reasons, parents invaded the school, evicted the teacher, and later ambushed her while she was taking her children to school, killing her instantly, and setting her body aflame,” the KNUT Secretary-General said.

Sossion urged the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Interior to offer security to teachers and school property to ensure the situation does not run out of control.

Sossion called the police service to speed up their investigations and ensure they bring the perpetrators to book adding that the Kitui incident ought to serve as an example to the rest.

“Parents who killed Mbaluka should be investigated, arrested, charged and convicted according to the law of the land. No stone should be left unturned as we have witnessed such ugly incidences in North Eastern Region, North Rift, Western Region, and South Nyanza,” Sossion stated.

Investigations are continuing on the incident that now goes to statistics as another loss of life because of Gender-Based Violence.
