The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has informed that it will be closing down a section of the busy dual carriageway of the Southern bypass at Lang’ata NHC Flyover.

KURA informed the public through a statement sent to newsrooms on the 19th of February 2020 saying that the route would be closed on 22nd February 2020 and the 23rd of February 2020.

The dual carriageway of the Southern Bypass at Lang’ata NHC will be closed on the two days to facilitate repairs.

“The closure will be in order to facilitate the removal of formwork below the bridge deck and the installation of the PVC downpipes for drainage on the ongoing Langata-Ngong Road Link,” the statement read.

KURA further informed that the closure of the dual carriageway of the Southern Bypass at Lang’ata NHC would take place from 6 am to 6 pm for the two days.

Motorists that will be driving to Western Kenyan and to Mombasa Road are advised to use alternative routes as will be designated by the traffic marshals.

Motorists are encouraged to cooperate to ensure smooth repairs of the dual carriageway of the Southern Bypass at Lang’ata NHC during the two days closure.

“We appreciate the support, cooperation, and understanding of the public as we endeavor to modernize our urban road infrastructure for efficient transport,” the statement concluded.
