Leading LSK Presidential Candidate Resigns From Co-operatives Tribunal To Focus On Campaigns

The race for the position of the President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) is at its peak, the gloves are off, both online and offline with legal minds battling it out while bringing out what they are made of.

Maria Mbeneka is one of the legal minds in the race towards the LSK Presidential position. For those who have been asking when she will be vacating her position at the Co-operatives Tribunal, Maria Mbeneka has news for you; she has resigned.

“As a candidate in the forthcoming Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Presidential contest, I have found it necessary to resign from the Co-operatives Tribunal in order to concentrate on my campaigns between now and the election day,” said Maria in a statement.

Maria Mbeneka is among four other candidates seeking to head one of the largest society in the country with her mission of always seeing a united society whose voice will always be heard and respected.

“The Law Society of Kenya is founded on traditions of unity and upholding the law. My pledge is to keep the same spirit and momentum as LSK President,” she said.

According to Maria, her dream is to see that the Society transforms into a much stronger force under her direction at the helm. She says good leaders let the people lead and she is ready to let members of the Society be the major and only shareholders in the Society.

One of her agenda that has excited lawyers is that of having an LSK App that will see members have access to legal material, link and converse with each other in real time as well as coming to the aid of each other in case of an emergency.
