Jambojet Suspends Flights To Kigali And Entebbe

Regional low-cost airline, Jambojet, has suspended all flights to and from Kigali (Rwanda) and Entebbe (Uganda) as Coronavirus continues to affect various sectors.

“Jambojet has decided to suspend its services to Kigali, Rwanda, and Entebbe, Uganda with immediate effect,” said the airline in a statement to newsrooms.

Over the past few weeks, there has been widespread of Coronavirus across the world with the aviation industry being the most affected. More than 80 airlines have canceled their flights to China and other countries.

“We would like to assure all the booked passengers that we shall make the necessary arrangements to accommodate them on alternative flights,” said Jambojet.

In Africa, airlines are estimated to have lost more than 1.5 trillion shillings in the wake of flight cancellations and countries going into lockdown to stop the spread of Coronavirus.

Jambojet, a subsidiary of Kenya Airways has for years been hailed for being among the most preferred low-cost airlines with some analysts suggesting that it should take over the running of Kenya Airways.

The CEO and MD of Jambojet Mr. Allan Kilavuka was appointed and confirmed as the new CEO and MD of Kenya Airways. The new CEO for Jambojet is yet to be appointed with stakeholders waiting to see who will be given the mantle.
