MultiChoice Avails More Content To Keep Customers Entertained And Informed

The prevailing circumstances have called on us all to adjust to new ways of living and working. We are now spending more time at home with loved ones and need the most up-to-date information about COVID-19.
MultiChoice has responded by broadening access to credible information by making news channels and launched additional pop-up channels to our customers across all the various bouquets. DStv has made six channels available to customers on all DStv packages at no extra cost.
Customers on Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Family, and Access will now be able to watch the new news channel Africanews (channel 417), CNN (channel 415), EuroNews (Channel 414), Da Vinci (channel 318), Cartoon Network (Channel 310) and SuperSport 7 (channel 207).
Additionally, MultiChoice Group has expanded the content offering for news, kids’ shows, movies, and curated sports content, and made the channels available on the online streaming service DStv Now. Customers can also live stream every moment of the latest developments around the world on six news channels now available on Showmax. Showmax will live stream six news channels 24/7 namely BBC World News, Sky News, CNN, Newzroom Afrika, Al Jazeera, and Euronews.
These latest developments and additions have been made to ensure that everyone has easy access to accurate information about COVID-19 anywhere, anytime. Customers only need to download the DStv Now or Showmax App to have comprehensive coverage to a wide range of news channels.
GOtv customers can also take advantage of the Upgrade to Step Up offer to enjoy an expanded offering of sports, kids’ channels and news available on GOtv Max and Plus. Africanews, a new news channel has also launched on the platform on GOtv Channel 47.
MultiChoice has also increased its dose of entertainment with four new channels to keep the whole family entertained during this period:
Stay Home, Stay Safe and Stay Entertained with M-Net Binge – The Home of HBO: DStv has conjured up a must-watch pop-up channel that kicks off on Friday 27 March at 19:00 CAT with only the best of the best content from the HBO stable. M-Net Binge – The Home of HBO, channel 114 on DStv Premium and Compact Plus, will showcase full seasons of edgy, award-winning series as well as a selection of riveting documentaries and HBO Original films. M-Net Binge – The Home of HBO will be available between 18:00 CAT to 06:00 CAT Mondays through to Sundays because of the racy nature of the content and age-restricted material not suitable for daytime viewing. M-Net Binge – The Home of HBO will also be available on DStv Now, DStv Catch Up and DStv Catch Up Plus on connected decoders.
Africanews debuts on DStv and GOtv: In terms of the channels that will now be available to DStv customers all the way to Access, Africanews launched on 20 March, promising customers unrivaled pan-African, multilingual and unbiased news coverage. It’s a place where viewers can watch the most up-to-date news about the 54 African countries on one channel, with 50 correspondents traveling the continent to cover social, business, political and cultural stories. Africanews is available for DStv (Channel 417) and GOtv (Channel 47) providing content in English and French from an African perspective.
TOONAMI, the Home of Superheroes lands on a new-pop up channel: WarnerMedia’s TOONAMI, the Home of Superheroes Channel opens on DStv channel 300 for all DStv packages and GOtv Channel 71 for Max and Plus customers from Friday, 27 March for all the energizing superhero action you and your family need! The channel targets all super-heroes’ fans, especially kids between the ages of 8 and 12, offering non-stop, uninterrupted, 24-hour programming, jam-packed with top-rated series’ such as DC Comics’ Batman, Superman, The Green Lantern, Young Justice and The Justice League as well as popular animated series Teen Titans among others. Stave off the cabin fever and tune in from 19.00 CAT on Friday, 27 March.
NHK WORLD-JAPAN to Launch on DStv this April: This April, DStv welcomes a new lifestyle channel, NHK WORLD-JAPAN to its platform starting Wednesday, 1 April. The channel, which will launch on DStv channel 431 will showcase a variety of arts and culture, current affairs, dramas, documentaries, sport and much more. Viewers on all DStv packages will have all access to a new world of Japanese content and will be able to discover a unique and diverse blend of programming featuring hourly live international news from news bureaus around the globe, along with lifestyle, culture, food, travel, sports, technology, science, and history programs, with an Asian perspective.
