The National Transport Authority (NTSA) has suspended most of its services following the directives by the National Emergency and Response Committee on Coronavirus.

“We wish to inform the public that in line with the directives of the National Emergency and Response Committee on Coronavirus that effective Monday, 16th March 2020 the authority has suspended services,” NTSA said.

The services suspended by NTSA include:

  • Collection of Logbooks
  • PSV Badges
  • Smart Driving Licence enrolment and collection
  • Driver Testing and Motor vehicle Inspection

NTSA has announced that the above-listed services will remain suspended until further notice though, noting that the NTSA online services will remain accessible.

“However, our online services will not be affected,” NTSA said in the public notice.

“We will provide a further update on our services within the next 48 hours,” NTSA said noting that it regrets the inconvenience the suspension of services would cause their customers.

The notice by the transport authority comes a day after the President directed all public and private gatherings to be stopped and be considered illegal.

The President also announced that school-going children should not report today and gave those in boarding schools three days to go home.

The transport authority is, therefore, acting in support of the directive that is viewed as a measure to fight the deadly coronavirus that has killed 5,774 with 73,962 recovery cases reported.
