It has been more than two months since the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus but there are still no rays of hope when it comes to containing its spread.

The virus which is very contagious has posed a serious threat to human existence with thousands of people dying of the disease and other thousands getting infected.

The global economy is now clutching at straws as business people are staring at empty shelves because the supply of goods is experiencing a stall.

Other than the world of business, the world of sports is already feeling the pinch of the coronavirus as well. Sporting events are being cancelled every now and again over fears of the spread of the virus.

Sporting events would be the most conducive avenue for coronavirus to spread owing to the large crowds that attend the events.

In football, for example, some games are considered very entertaining and thus a massive attendance by the supporters.

Barcelona’s Camp Nou Stadium is the largest football stadium with a capacity of over 99,000 people. The stadium is not always full but when it hosts an el Classico match, it vomits to the outside. Imagine in this situation about 100,000 people risk being infected at a go.

Here are the Sporting events likely to be affected due to the Coronavirus Outbreak.

 Football

Football is likely to lose its pride as the most followed sport in 2020 due to the bloodthirsty coronavirus.

Matches are being postponed every day and some are expected to be played behind closed doors as fans are not allowed to attend. Something that affects its liveliness.

Fifa president Gianni Infantino said, “If games have to be postponed or played without spectators until it is over, then we have to go through that.”

Europe’s major leagues are currently facing a major threat due to the coronavirus outbreak as countries like Spain, Russia, Germany UK and Italy already confirmed cases of the virus.

So far, the deadly coronavirus has manifested itself in Italy, and its presence is being felt…

The renowned Serie A league was forced to postpone some of its matches to a later date thus affecting the hunt for the top spot of the league.

The top-flight match between Juventus and Inter Milan was postponed to later date paving way for Lazio to temporarily enjoy the top spot.
