Coronavirus Updates: 225 Confirmed Cases, 10 Deaths, 53 Recoveries

Kenya now has 225 confirmed Coronavirus cases according to a briefing delivered by the Ministry of Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe saying nine more people have tested positive in the last 24 hours.

The nine who have tested positive are all Kenyans that were tested amongst 803 others and all of them have no history of ever traveling outside the country sinking the CS’s message that the virus is now fast spreading amongst Kenyans.

CS Mutahi Kagwe has also noted that twelve more Kenyans have recovered and been discharged bringing the number number of recoveries in the country to fifty-three.

All the nine that have tested positive for Coronavirus were not in any quarantine center in the Country and were picked from Nairobi and Mombasa where some either reported to a healthcare facility after feeling sick while some were picked by the Ministry of Health surveillance team according to the Health CS.

Out of the nine that have tested positive for Coronavirus according to Health CS Kagwe are five (5) people from Nairobi and four (4) people from Mombasa County.

The nine that have tested positive for Coronavirus in the last 24 hours range between 9 and 69 years of age.

Sadly, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has also announced that one more person has succumbed to Coronavirus in Kenya bringing the death toll to ten (10).

“This battle will be won by working together as Kenyans,” the Health CS has said while updating Kenyans on the current COVID-19 crisis adding that the Ministry of Health has substantially increased the capacity for mass testing.
