COVID-19 Update: 234 Cases, 11 Dead, 53 Recoveries In Uhuru’s Address

“I want at this juncture to thank all those complying to the set measures as this is helping us combat the spread of COVID-19, a disease that would in great measure cause unimaginable destruction,” the President has said.

In the last 24 hours, 704 samples have been tested for COVID-19 and nine have tested positive bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 234.

One more person has succumbed to Coronavirus in the last 24 hours increasing the total number of fatalities to 11 according to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kenya’s recoveries remain at 53 after 13 more people were discharged yesterday, 15th April 2020, after testing negative for two tests raising the number of recoveries from 40 to 53.

All the 234 confirmed cases in Kenya range between 2 years and 64 years of age according to President Uhuru Kenyatta who has delivered today’s COVID-19 status, 16th April 2020.

The Ministry of Health has received testing kits that have largely improved the country’s capability in fighting the spread of coronavirus.

“Governors will work with County Commissioner to ensure help gets to Kenyans in the grassroots,” President Uhuru has announced.

“The COVID-19 Response Emergency Fund has so far managed to raise close to 1 billion shillings and I congratulate them and call on corporates and all people of good-will to continue donating to help combat this virus,” President Uhuru has said.

President Uhuru has also condemned those of us interfering with the delivery of duties to the law enforcer and say that such characters will be met by the full wrath of the law.

All the nine that tested positive for Coronavirus yesterday were Kenyans who were not in any quarantine center in the Country and were picked from Nairobi and Mombasa.

Some of those that tested positive were either reported to a healthcare facility after feeling sick while some were picked by the Ministry of Health surveillance team according to the Health CS yesterday, 15th April 2020.
