Is China Hiding The Truth About Origin Of Covid-19?

A new Chinese Government directive has restricted publication of research documents that show the origins of the deadly Covid-19.

According to the new directive, researchers will have to submit any publication about Covid-19 for thorough vetting before it is released to the public.

The new directive was revealed by two Chinese Universities through an online post but apparently, the posts have been deleted.

The posts stated that any study involving the origin of the Covid-19 will have to be subjected to extra scrutiny by the central government officials who will also approve it.

The restrictions by the Chinese government is a move to control the narratives behind the Covid-19 pandemic that continues to wreak havoc to the entire world.

Since its outbreak outside China, Covid-19 has infected close to 1.9 million people and has claimed the lives of over 100,000 people globally.

Researchers were earlier allowed to publish their findings of the origin of the virus but restrictive measures have been put in place after some findings were seen to paint the Chinese government badly.

The move is however seen as one that will obstruct important scientific research that might lead to the containment of the spread of the virus. A Chinese researcher who sort anonymity told CNN.

“I think it is a coordinated effort from (the) Chinese government to control (the) narrative, and paint it as if the outbreak did not originate in China,” the researcher said.

“And I don’t think they will really tolerate any objective study to investigate the origination of this disease.”

A Chinese government official confirmed to CNN that the directive was indeed issued but it was not supposed to be made public.

Just hours after CNN spoke to the official, the posts on the two Universities: Fudan University and the China University of Geoscience were pulled down.

As China is trying to prevent research on the origin of the Covid-19, the world is continuing to feel the hat as cases balloon day in day out.

The number of infections have hit over 1.8 million with the virus claiming the lives of over 114,000 people globally. On the positive end, about 430,000 people have recovered from the deadly virus.
