List Of Celebrities Who Have Publicly Confirmed Positive For Coronavirus

Coronavirus or rather COVID-19 has infected many and affected the World’s order as it has been known to be over the centuries without sparing the rich, powerful of celebrities.

Globally, the death toll from COVID-19, which is a respiratory illness caused by the new virus, is estimated to be more than 70,000 according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

The Johns Hopkins University data also reveals that the number of infections in the globe currently stands at more than 1.27 million.

Among the 1.27million coronavirus confirmed cases in the World, are some of our favorite celebrities, below is a list of celebrities who have tested positive for the virus.

  1. Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks, a two-time Oscar-winning actor tested positive for coronavirus while in Australia where he was working on a film.

Tom Hanks confirmed the news of him testing positive for coronavirus on his Instagram account where he said he said he and his wife, Rita Wilson had tested positive after experiencing fever and fatigue.

Tom Hanks posted that “we felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches,” and upon testing the results confirmed the production’s fears sending the couple to isolation immediately.

  1. Rita Wilson

Rita Wilson, an actress, singer, and Tom Hanks wife said she was overwhelmed by the outpour of love showed to them by their fans once they announced their COVID-19 status.

“So grateful for the outpouring of prayers, love, and support. Means so much and strengthens us,” Rita Wilson said in an Instagram post. Both Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are 63-years of age.

  1. Prince Charles

The Queen’s son and the direct heir to the British throne, Prince Charles news of having tested positive for coronavirus shook the World for obvious reasons.

Prince Charles, according to a spokesperson “otherwise remains in good health,” while his wife, Camilla, was also tested for the virus, but her results were negative.

Prince Charles was self-isolated at home in Scotland according to the spokesman where he received treatment.

  1. Andy Cohen

Andy Cohen, 51 years of age, a talk show host announced he had tested positive for coronavirus on Instagram.

Andy Cohen was on the process of taping his show, Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, from home but decided to put that on hold to focus on getting better.

“I want to thank all the medical professionals who are working tirelessly for all of us, and urge everybody to stay home and take care of themselves,” Andy Cohen said.

  1. Rudy Gobert

Rudy Gobert, the Utah Jazz center was the first NBA player to be diagnosed with coronavirus sparking the NBA’s decision to suspend its season for 30 days.

“Just to give you guys an update, loss of smell and taste is definitely one of the symptoms, haven’t been able to smell anything for the last 4 days,” Gobert said on Twitter.

  1. Kevin Durant

The Brooklyn Nets’ small forward tested positive for COVID-19, along with three of his teammates.

Only one of the four has shown symptoms, but it’s not clear if it was Durant. “Everyone be careful, take care of yourself, and quarantine,” he told The Athletic.

  1. Idris Elba

The actor, who starred in the British crime drama Luther and been voted the most handsome man in the World two years in a row confirmed his diagnosis via Twitter in a video where he was accompanied by his wife.

Idris Elba showed no symptoms but remains isolated. Elba, 47, encouraged people to “be pragmatic” and practice social distancing. His wife, Sabrina Dhowre, tested positive soon after.

  1. Rand Paul

The U.S. senator from Kentucky tested positive for the new coronavirus and quarantined himself. Paul was the first senator diagnosed.

“He is asymptomatic and was tested out of an abundance of caution due to his extensive travel and events. He was not aware of any direct contact with an infected person,” according to a statement on his Twitter account.

  1. Harvey Weinstein

Harvey Weinstein, a former Movie star has not had any lucky stars in the last few months as he recently was sentenced to 23 years in prison for sexual assault.

Harvey who once rocked screens in movies has also tested positive for coronavirus and is currently in isolation at the Wende Correctional Facility east of Niagara Falls, New York.

  1. Sabrina Dhowre Elba

Model and wife to Idris Elba, Sabrina Dhowre Elba, tested positive for coronavirus shortly after her husband tested positive for the virus.

Sabrina Elba revealed that she did not isolate from her husband, Idris Elba, even when they knew that he had been infected with the coronavirus.

Sabrina however also noted that she had no regrets about staying by her husband’s side when he tested positive for COVID-19 even though she ended up infected.
