Over 26, 148 Kenyans To Be Employed As Coronavirus Cases Rise To 343

President Uhuru Kenyatta has today addressed the nation and revealed that a national hygiene program will start and take place in the next 30 days employing more than 26, 148 workers at the beginning of the program.

The cleaning exercise, according to President Kenyatta, gradually grow the number of Kenyans employed to over 100,000 young people across the country as the number of coronavirus cases increases in the country.

President Uhuru who has also delivered the country’s COVID-19 status has noted that the country’s confirmed cases have risen to 343 after seven (7) more people have tested positive in the last 24 hours.

“I will not delay de-escalating the measures we are taking the moment our experts inform us that the risks have reduced sufficiently on the basis of how we respond,” President Uhuru has said.

President Uhuru addressed the nation from State House in Nairobi from where he thanked the health workers for fronting a great fight against Coronavirus saying the death toll remains at 14 and will as long as Kenyans strictly adhere to the measures set by the Ministry of Health.

Nationwide Curfew Extended For 21 More Days

President Uhuru Kenyatta has today, 25th April 2020, also extended the nationwide 7 pm to 5 am curfew together with the ban on movement of in and out of the Nairobi Metropolitan area, Kilifi, Kwale, and Mombasa by 21 more days citing the rising cases of community transmission.

President Kenyatta announced that the extension of the curfew and partial lockdown is a part of new measures aimed at combating the spread of coronavirus in the country.

“The cessation of movement into and out of the Nairobi Metropolitan area and the counties of Kilifi, Kwale, and Mombasa that are currently in force shall be extended for a further containment period of 21 days,” President Uhuru said.

“The nationwide dusk-to-dawn curfew that is currently in force shall also be extended for a further period of 21 days,” President Uhuru said to the dismay of many and applaud of the Ministry of Health officials.
