UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson Admitted To Hospital Over Covid-19

The United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson who earlier tested positive for the coronavirus has been admitted to hospital for further tests.

Sources revealed the UK Prime minister spent a night at a hospital after he suffered persistent coronavirus symptoms just 10 days after he tested positive. The sources also confirmed that the prime minister is still in charge of the government.

“The PM is still at the hospital. He spent the night in hospital,” said a British government said.

The PM has been in isolation at the Downing Street but was later advised by his personal doctor to go for further tests when his conditions seemed to worsen.

“On the advice of his doctor, the prime minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests,” Boris Johnson’s office announced on Sunday, March 5, 2020.

“This is a precautionary step, as the prime minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus ten days after testing positive for the virus.”

Boris Johnson was the first leader of a major power to announce that he had tested positive. He took a precautionary step to isolate himself in an apartment at Downing Street.

Hitherto, the number of covid-19 cases has reached 47,806 with over 4,934 deaths.

Globally, the numbers have ballooned to 1,274,890 and 69,493 deaths.

There are about 940,503 active cases where 894,655 (95 percent) have mild symptoms while 45,898 have serious or critical conditions.

For inactive or closed cases, there are 264,844 (79 percent) who have recovered or have been discharged while 69,493(21 percent) have succumbed to the virus.

The virus has spread across 208 countries and territories around the world and 2 international conveyances.

China which was once the epicenter of the Covid-19 has been reporting low cases while the US and European countries have witnessed the worse in terms of infections and deaths.

USA has 336,830 cases and 9,618, Spain has 131,646 and 12, 641 deaths, Italy (128,948 and 15,887 deaths) Germany 100,123 and 1,584 deaths France 92,839 cases and 8,078 deaths.
