Kenya Marks Highest Number Of COVID-19 Recoveries In 24 Hours

Kenya has marked the highest number of COVID-19 recoveries in 24 hours after 36 individuals have tested negative twice for the virus raising the number of recoveries to 239 since the first case was reported.

Speaking to the media, CAS Rashid Aman has noted that the Ministry of Health has tested 1056 samples in the last 24 hours and out of those, 23 have tested positive.

According to CAS Rashid Aman, 22 of those that have tested positive for COVID-19 are Kenyans while one is a Burundi national and the 23 new cases have raised the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 672.

Kenya, according to CAS Rashid Aman, the Ministry of Health has so far tested 32,097 samples since the 13th of March when the first case was reported.

Thirteen of the 23 that have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours are males while 10 are females with 12 cases in Mombasa, six in Mandera, four in Nairobi and one in Kajiado.

Twenty of the twenty-three that have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours have been drawn from various communities while only three have been picked from the mandatory quarantine centres.

The four COVID-19 cases picked from Nairobi in the last 24 hours are two from Umoja, one from Komarock and another one from Pipeline in Embakasi constituency while the one case from Kajiado county is from Saina estate.

The twelve new COVID-19 cases in Mombasa are two from Kisauni, two from Likoni while eight are from Mvita while the six Mandera County COVID-19 cases are three from Mandera East, one from Mandera North and one from West.

The youngest COVID-19 case in Kenya in the last 24 hours is that of a one-year nine-month-old child while the eldest is 40 years old.

Sadly, Kenya has lost two more lives to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours according to CAS Rashid Aman who revealed that the two deaths happened in Mombasa county
