117 New COVID-19 Cases As House Parties Are Blamed For Spread

Kenya has today,  Friday 19th June 2020, recorded an increase of 117 COVID-19 cases, raising the country’s total number to 4,374 according to Health CAS Rashid Aman has said.

The 117 samples were from 3,043 samples tested in the last 24 hours raising the total number of samples to 133,541 though the number of samples has lowered from yesterday’s

112 of the 117 COVID-19 cases announced today are Kenyans while the rest (5) are foreigners whose country of origin could not be disclosed as Dr. Amoth noted that it would be against the wishes of neighboring countries.

83 of the 117 COVID-19 cases announced are males while 54 are females with all the cases ranging between 11 years old for the youngest and 75- years for the eldest.

Kenya, according to Health CAS Rashid Aman has recorded 91 recoveries in the last 24 hours raising the total number of recoveries from COVID-19 in Kenya to 1,550.

The 117 COVID-19 cases are spread out in Kenya as follows:

Nairobi – 51

Mombasa – 22

Kajiado – 18

Kiambu – 6

Nakuru -5

Garissa -5

Machakos -3

Busia -2

Kericho -2

Uasin Gishu -2

Wajir -1

The Nairobi 51 COVID-19 cases are spread out in: Kibra-8, Lang’ata – 8, Makadara -6, Dagorreti North- 6, Kamkunji -4, Embakasi East -4, Embakasi North -3, Embakasi South -3, Mathare -2, Ruaraka -2, Embakasi Central -2 and Embakasi West, Kasarani and Starehe -1.

The Mombasa 22 COVID-19 cases are spread out in: Mvita-8, Kisauni -5, Changamwe -4, Likoni -3, Jomvu, and Nyali one respectively.

On a sad note, two people, one from Thika and the other from Garissa’s Dadaab have succumbed to the COVID-19 virus bringing the total number of deaths to 119.
