Co-op Bank Launches New Internet Banking That Gives Customers More

Covid-19 has changed how people relate, both socially and economically. It is no longer business as usual. The pandemic is spreading by the day and the cases are alarming, piling pressure on the available health facilities in Kenya and around the world.
Millions of businesses have shut down and so many people have lost their source of income. Those who depended on savings are worried that they might run out sooner than they had expected. The future remains gloomy and a dark cloud still lingers not very far from each one of us.
By the time of writing this piece, Kenya has recorded a total of 4,257 of Covid-19 confirmed cases. On Thursday, June 18, 2020, Kenya registered 213 new cases within 24 hours with 10 casualties. Both the number of new cases and casualties were the highest since the confirmation of the first case.
Various people are calling it the new norm. They say people should start adapting to how to live with the pandemic hovering around. There are two new aspects that this pandemic has introduced; the wearing of the mask, washing hands, or the use of a sanitizer and observation of social distance among individuals.
The World Health Organization (WHO), in an effort to cut down on the spread of the virus through banknotes, advised people around the world to embrace the use of cashless modes of transaction. In Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyatta urged Kenyans to embrace the use of both internet and mobile banking.
Banks such as the Co-operative Bank of Kenya resolved to shield their customers and encourage them to use mobile banking by waiving all the mobile charges when people transfer their cash from their accounts to mobile phone accounts.
Through platforms such as MCo-op Cash, the Co-operative Bank has enabled customers to deposit cash to their accounts, withdraw cash, check balance, take loans, as well as paying for goods and services.
To further help Kenyans better their banking experience, the Co-operative Bank has revamped its internet banking platforms to include more amazing services. Themed “your banking team is at your fingertips”, the new internet banking by Co-operative bank gives customers an option of personal internet banking and corporate internet banking.

The beauty about this new internet banking by Co-operative Bank is that customers can self-register with no paperwork needed. This makes it more convenient in saving time and avoiding traveling to branches, hence minimizing the chances of contracting Covid-19.
