BY Soko Directory Team · June 10, 2020 02:06 pm

Most often students choose courses they plan to pursue in University without the necessary guidance and the break after the secondary national exams opens them to exactly what the courses, they choose to entail.

On 2nd June, education cabinet Professor George Magoha announced that only 125,000 candidates who had sat the 2019 KCSE would get an opportunity to directly enroll for a degree in University but do those that qualified satisfied with the courses they were invited to pursue.

Unlike in previous years when information lacked on how to ensure university transfers, candidates nowadays are able to transfer from one university to another and even change their courses.

The process of university and course transfer in Universities only happens during a window period announced by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).

The process of university and course transfers in university is expected to take place in the month of June according to KUCCPS which will confirm the tentative date as time goes by.

The application of university transfers is only available to the students admitted through the government-sponsored programmes, previously known as JAB students.

The inter-institutional transfer is done online where applicants log in to their student’s portal and fill in an application form that they download and print to be handed over to the respective heads of the institutions that the student wishes to transfer to.

The university, the student wishes to transfer to, then endorses the request, if an opportunity is available, the request form is submitted to the Placement Service for processing.

Students are free to apply for both change of course and university in their inter-transfer application but this is all only possible when the window period is announced and yet to lapse.
