Kenya Registers More COVID-19 Recoveries Than Infections In 24 Hours

Kenya has today registered more COVID-19 recoveries than positive cases after 97 patients were discharged across the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 849 according to the health CAS Rashid Aman.

Health CAS Rashid Aman has noted that the World Health Organization is recommending that all persons over 60 years of age and those with underlined health conditions should use the N95 facemasks.

The World Health Organization has also recommended that health workers nursing COVID-19 patients use the N95 facemasks as they are also grouped among those placed at most risk to the COVID-19 virus.

Kenya now has a total of 2,862 COVID-19 confirmed cases according to health CAS Rashid Aman after 95 people tested positive in 1,096 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health has tested a total of 98,439 samples since the day it registered its first COVID-19 case on the 13th of March 2020 with the number of samples tested today going down.

The 95 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases are 92 Kenyans and three foreigners and are spread the Country as follows:

Nairobi -13

Busia -10

Kajiado -6

Kilifi -3

Nyeri -3

Kitui -1

Kwale -1

Garissa – 1

Marsabit -1

Marsabit county has today registered its first case which has come from North Horr in the county bringing the number of counties that have registered a COVID-19 case to 38 out of the 47 counties in Kenya.

The three COVID-19 cases in Nyeri county according to Health CAS Rashid Aman are all of the healthcare workers according to Health CAS Rashid Aman who pledged the Ministry of Health’s support to the COVID-19 positive workers.

The  56 COVID-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours in Mombasa county are from Mvita, Changamwe, Nyali, Likoni, and Jomvu while the 13 infections reported in Nairobi are 10 from Kibra and one from Lang’ata, Kasarani, and Dagorreti respectively.

The 95 COVID-19 cases reported are in the last 24 hours are 57 males and 38 females with the youngest being a one-year-old and the eldest a 72-year-old.

Kenya has sadly also lost one more patient to COVID-19 in Nairobi in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of fatalities to COVID-19 to 85.
